Everyone deserves more affordable adventures and having some helpful tips to ensure you’re booking your flight for the least amount is guaranteed to give you a few more piña coladas.

Compare Prices on Another Website

When booking plane tickets online, use more than one flight search engine for each of your flight searches. Searching multiple sites ensures that you’ve seen all major and budget airline deals.

Be Flexible

Depending on the day of the week, upcoming holidays and the time of year, airline ticket prices will vary greatly. Everyone wants to go to Disney World during Christmas and spring break – naturally, flight costs will be maxed out. Try and fly when you know most of the population will not be flying to your dream destination. Do some research and see when the tourism rates drop throughout the year and plan your vacation accordingly.

Airlines are known to cut prices for weekend flights that aren’t filled up. From Tuesday to Friday check through our online flight booking database to see if prices have fallen for your preferred Friday to Sunday flight.

If you aren’t so last minute, leave on a Wednesday. It stands to reason that the flights with the most available seats will be those with the lowest fares. People tend to leave for vacations on Friday and business fliers usually leave earlier in the week. Escaping mid-week will definitely be beneficial to your bank account.

Don’t Always Fly Direct

Being flexible about the “when” and the “where” of your destination can help you score a cheap flight, but so will being adaptable with the route you take. Whenever you can, take advantage of the deal you see in going to another city. This might mean taking more than one flight, but two budget flights can be less than what another carrier sells their “budget” flight as.

To do this, find out how much it is to go directly to your destination. In Airline Ticket Centre’s flight database, type in the city you would like to go to. Once searched, click the box on the bottom left  that says “Search for nearby airports.” Look for airports where the difference from your original destination is more than $150. After doing so, look to see how much it is to get from the second airport to your primary destination. If travelling to an airport within the continent and then taking a second flight to your destination saves you money, be certain to have at least three hours between connections. Booking tickets on different airlines can pose a risk as well – if something goes wrong on the first airline and causes you to be late to your second flight, being put on the next flight will not be as easy.

Student Discounts are an Advantage

Should you be a student or under the age of 26, you’re in luck! There are many discounts available to you. You can find prices 20-30% off the normal fare. Get in contact with different travel agencies, if they offer student discounts, you’ve hit the jackpot!

Book a Vacation Package

A flight and hotel package can save you money. By booking a vacation package on Airline Ticket Centre and additionally finding a cheaper flight, you have not only saved cash, but receive money back through gift cards by using our Insider Club rewards.

Stay Alert for Special Deals

Most of us may not enjoy a full inbox, but signing up for multiple mailings lists from airlines and search engines will ensure you receive updates about all of the last-minute or special deals occurring. This is our favourite way to ensure you find a cheap flight. Airlines will send you all of the information you need – all you have to do is look through your inbox!

Buy for One

Instead of buying plane tickets for your family in a single purchase, search ticket prices as one person. Commonly, the airline will find a group of seats together and price each seat for the worth of the most expensive price. Seat A could be $200, but you wouldn’t know that because Seat D is $450. Now, all of your seats are $450 each. In the checkout process, you can pick your seats to ensure that youand your family are sitting together.

Book Six Weeks in Advance

There is a science that goes with booking your flight tickets – you should book early, but not too early. Six weeks in advance is the perfect number. Around this time, fares tend to drop below the average price level and the closer you get to departure, the more the airline fares will rise. For vacations, this should be the perfect time for you to plan everything, making sure the hotels and rental cars you want are available. There is one exception to this rule – peak season! If you are travelling to your destination during their busiest tourist times, book your flight three months in advance. By being flexible and prepared, the opportunity to save is endless.

Book Two One-Way Flights

You’ll never know if two one-way flights are cheaper than one round-trip flight until you compare. Budgeting is an art and you should never leave a stone unturned.

Finding a cheap Canadian flight booking is not impossible, but requires thinking outside of the box and in some cases, a little risk-taking. Mostly, you’ve got to go with the flow and utilize every deal possible! Finding a good deal can be as extreme as couponing – Airline Ticket Centre gives our best to supply those coupons!
